Privacy Policy

Your Privacy, in Plain Language

What ChatPig collects, what it never asks for, and the choices you have — no legal fog machine.

  • Less data by default
  • You stay in control
  • Camera is your call
  • Questions answered

Worth knowing before anything else: on any video chat platform, the biggest privacy factor isn't a database — it's whatever you show or tell the person across from you, because they can capture it whatever we build. The safety tips are the practical companion to this page.

1. What This Policy Covers

This policy covers the ChatPig website and the random video chat service it provides. Third parties we rely on — payment processors, analytics providers, hosting — handle data under their own policies, and external sites linked from ChatPig are their own responsibility.

2. What We Collect

What you give us

Account details if you choose to register, anything you type into a chat, purchase details when you pay for something, and whatever you include in a support message or report. ChatPig works without most of this — you can start chatting without creating an account at all.

What gets collected automatically

The technical exhaust of running a web product: your device and browser, an approximate location inferred from network information, your IP address, which pages you visit, which features you use, and diagnostics when something breaks.

Camera and microphone

Your live video and audio go to whoever you're matched with, and only while that chat lasts. The browser requests camera and microphone access first, only when you're about to use them — and saying yes is always your call. Text and voice modes exist precisely so that camera time is a choice, not an entry fee.

3. What We Never Ask For

ChatPig does not need — and will not request — your password by chat or email, one-time security codes, a complete payment card number, or your exact home address. Anyone asking for those while claiming to be us is not us; treat it as the impersonation attempt described in the safety tips.

4. Why We Use Data

  • To run the product — matching, chats, and keeping your session working
  • To process payments and manage recharges
  • To keep the platform friendly — reviewing reports and investigating abuse
  • To find and fix what's broken
  • To respond when you contact us
  • To comply with the law

5. What Other People See

Whatever appears on your camera or in your messages is visible to the person you're chatting with — that's the product working as intended. Once something is shown to another person, it's beyond our reach: there's no setting that pulls it back, and recording a screen works regardless of what the platform does. That's why the advice is to share gradually — a rule of judgment, not a switch we can flip for you.

6. Cookies

Cookies and similar technologies hold your sign-in, remember your preferences, help keep the site secure and show us how the product is actually used. You can delete or refuse them through your browser whenever you like; a few features may misbehave if you do.

7. Who We Share It With

The circle of who can see data stays small:

  • Service providers that run parts of the product — hosting, payment processing, analytics — bound by their own rules
  • The people you chat with, as section 5 describes
  • Law enforcement, when the law compels it or when someone's safety is genuinely at stake
  • A buyer, if the business is ever sold

Reports you file land with our reviewers; the person you reported never sees them as coming from you.

8. How Long We Keep It

We hold data for as long as your account exists and as long as the purposes above call for — including keeping report, fraud and payment records when the law or a dispute requires it. Retention differs by data type, so a single global number would be invented rather than informative, and this page doesn't invent one. Ask us about a specific case.

9. Your Choices and Rights

  • Camera and microphone — allow or withdraw access in your browser settings whenever you like, or stick to text and voice
  • Cookies — delete or refuse them through your browser
  • What you share — the most powerful control; use it generously
  • Blocking — stop a specific person from contacting you
  • Your data — ask us to see, correct or erase it

Depending on where you live, the law may give you additional rights over your data. Write to us from the address on your account; we may have to confirm you're the account holder first — that step stops a stranger from requesting your data in your name.

10. Keeping Data Safe

We work to protect the data we hold from unauthorised access, loss and abuse. Straight talk rather than reassurance: no way of transmitting or storing data is perfectly secure, and anyone who claims otherwise is overselling. Your side of the job is a strong unique password and never sharing verification codes.

11. A Word About Kids

ChatPig isn't built for children, and using it requires meeting the minimum age set out in the Terms of Service. If you believe a minor is on the platform, report it so our team can look into the account and remove it.

12. If We Change This Policy

As the product evolves, so does this policy. Using ChatPig after an update means accepting the new version; big changes will be flagged where we reasonably can.

13. Talk to Us About Privacy

Anything privacy-related — questions or data requests — goes to support[at]chatpig.online; swap the [at] for a regular @, since the odd spelling is deliberate camouflage against scraper bots. For anything non-privacy, the contact page routes you to the right inbox.
